EUTF-YM meeting 2022 - ACTIVITY REPORT
During the EUTF annual meeting in Bologna, the Young Members (YM) of each member nation also met up for exchanging information and experiences. On behalf of Belgium, Kang Chi Jao & Joren Celis were delegated to represent ABTUS-BVOTS. Using a hybrid meeting format, all national YM representatives were able to attend and present the evolution of their YM societies, activities carried out during the past year, plans and initiatives for the near future.
We also proudly announced that both of our EUTFym candidates, Christian Rhein (DE) and Sam Huckle (FR), were elected as ITAym board members during the WTC 2022 in Copenhagen. Furthermore, young members are encouraged to participate in the ITA working group activities as well as promoting the working groups within their own countries.
Meanwhile, SIGym presented the next EUTFym regional event, which will take place on 10th-11th March 2023 in Genoa. It is planned to visit the construction sites of the “Terzo Valico dei Giovi” project, part of the European Rhine-Alps Corridor which provides for the enhancement of the Genoa-Basel-Rotterdam / Antwerp railway axis of the TEN-T network. The visit will include a 27km twin bored tunnel, which will become Italy’s longest underground railway route. More information and an invitation for this regional event will be sent to the YMs shortly.
And certainly, the highlight of the annual meeting, EUTFym enjoyed two wonderful evening events in the beautiful old town of Bologna.
A huge thank you to SIGym for the organization and the hospitality!
