Following our first site visit in July 2024 to the construction dock in Zeebrugge, where the tunnel elements were being fabricated, we are pleased to invite you to a new visit—this time to the Scheldetunnel jobsite on the left bank of the river Scheldt.
The Scheldetunnel will complete the Antwerp Ring Road and provide a fourth, northern alternative for crossing the Scheldt, alongside the Kennedy, Waasland and Liefkenshoek tunnels. Commissioned by Lantis, the tunnel elements were built in Zeebrugge by TM COTU, a consortium of DEME, BESIX, Stadsbader Contractors and Jan De Nul.
This second visit offers a unique opportunity to witness the ongoing immersion of the tunnel elements—a technically impressive and critical phase in the construction process. The massive prefabricated segments, previously viewed in Zeebrugge, are now being carefully positioned into the riverbed. A truly remarkable moment in the realization of this immersed tunnel.
PPE is mandatory: helmet, safety shoes, fluorescent vest and goggles.
Please bring your own equipment.
